Events Online Registration Support

The Innovative Media, Research and Extension department offers many services for our educators and faculty in our college who host conferences and events. In addition to creating web pages about events, we offer two different methods for online registrations:

  • A third-party system called EZregister (which is perfect for events where payment is required).

  • Our own RSVP system (which works well for free events).

Both services are offered free of charge by our department.

EZregister

EZregister allows participants to pay with a credit card to attend your event. Other payment options include registering online and mailing a check, or simply paying at the door.

EZregister charges a $1 service fee per charge item. For example, if participants have a choice to attend your event, buy a T-shirt, or purchase a manual, a $1 service fee would be charged for each of these. We recommend that hosts bundle all these items and charge one fee to avoid the surge in service fees. (For example, set it up so a registration automatically includes a t-shirt and a manual). EZregister charges this $1 service fee because they do not receive any other revenue from the transaction.

When using EZregister, registrants are required to provide a valid email address in order to send the confirmation after completing the registration. There is no need to provide index or account numbers, as EZregister will send the host a paper check after deducting the service and credit card fees.

For more information, or to begin work for your next event, complete the Basic Intake Form found at: https://rsvp.nmsu.edu/rsvp/ezintake.

RSVP

An alternative to EZregister is the RSVP system, which provides an easy online registration to gather information from future participants of your event. It provides the ability for the host to download a roster list at their convenience.

RSVP is not recommended for more complex online registrations or those that require a payment. Both RSVP and EZregister methods allow for the collection of participant data within a “free” event.

More information regarding RSVP may be found at: https://rsvp.nmsu.edu/. We are also available to learn more about your event, to help you make choices as you design the registration process.

Website Support

For national or special events, more detailed information may be required that a simple online registration can not provide. Therefore, the inclusion or creation of a website may be necessary. High profile events may include tour information, high quality photos, agenda, travel information, directions, and more.

This feature may be requested for an online registration form via EZregister by submitting the Basic Intake Form (https://rsvp.nmsu.edu/rsvp/ezintake). Most RSVP forms will only require that a registration button be included within the host’s website.
